At the last moment, the Czech snowboarder Ester Ledecká qualified for the grand final of the FIS World Cup in Saalbach, Austria. She achieved her best result of the year on the track where the Alpine Skiing World Championship will be held in less than a year. in her strongest discipline, Super G, she beat the complete world leader by almost half a second.
I cannot forgive my personal behind-the-scenes observation. The skiing circus has no love for Ledecka. They don’t like to see such „exotics“ who only occasionally come here and beat everyone here.
But after many Swiss anthems, hearing the Czech anthem at the end of this year’s World Cup was definitely a nice experience.
